These anointed leaders seem to believe that the world revolves around them.</p>
<blockquote><p>MARK COLVIN: Thousands of people have rallied out the front of Parliament, challenging the Federal Government to call an immediate election and stop its plans to introduce a carbon tax.</p>
<p>The Prime Minister Julia Gillard is not about to oblige them, but she&#8217;s been reminded several times today that it&#8217;s exactly a year since she uttered those words that have haunted her since &#8211; that there would be no carbon tax under a government she led.</p>
<p><strong>Ms Gillard says she knows her words have disappointed many.</strong></p>
