The Member of Parliament for Tsholotsho South, Maxwell Dube, said information on climate change was not flowing to the grassroots level and the rural populace had developed several misconceptions.
Dube was speaking on the sidelines of a parliamentarians’ workshop on climate and sustainable development organised by the SADC Climate Services Centre in conjunction with the Meteorological Services Department held from April 11-12. “Some people still believe that climate change is linked to sin. Some are of the view that the erratic rainfalls or flash floods are largely because of lack of adherence to cultural values and practices,” said Dube.
