Today, I drove past an old, weather worn sign in a rural area. Not really near any city. Just off an Interstate, but the exit long ago reworked to rob this place of traffic. Little, overgrown bungalow units that saw what? People in transit, in life and travel. Surreptitious dalliances  (that has a nice look doesn’t it…you can borrow it), layovers and laying low. This would have been a quiet, private place to just be, off life’s grid. The sign’s arrow points toward nothing…it’s all been blown away with the wind.
