The telltale bright pinks, reds, blues, yellow and orange spread out over large expanses in this one spot in the Mojave Desert. Suddenly, the stark contrast of a white rock slab and a larger dead snag next to the spikey Yucca cactus attracted notice. It blocked our path, so we had to stop and pay our respects to what was.</b></p>
