I was not inspired to fiction writing, so my word count fell short of the personal (not to mention official) goal of nano. </p>

<p>But I had fun participating . . . and maybe next year when I&#8217;m not in the middle of heavy academic writing and all, I&#8217;ll be able to relax a bit more and enjoy the fluffly piffle of dashing of things made up.</p>
