<p><img class="aligncenter" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-4J9o67YkX6g/VFap9q-Gy9I/AAAAAAAAQk8/Zrhqi3k4z7w/w724-h543-no/100_4340.JPG" alt="" width="724" height="543" /></p>
<p>Although Teazle continues to go out on the porch despite the weather, retrieving maple leaves and bringing them in as trophies, Geraldine is more selective. She likes to test the &#8220;out&#8221; before venturing out. Last Sunday was quite lovely.<!--more--><img class="aligncenter" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-MErpiWqlvfU/VFaqBbZH4FI/AAAAAAAAQlE/SDXM5uwabxA/w724-h543-no/100_4342.JPG" alt="" width="724" height="543" /></p>
<p>In the afternoon, I walked out to Brookline Village to pick up a library book on hold at the main branch of the Brookline Public Library; the walk took me across the Brookline Village stop on the Green Line T just as an inbound train was pulling up at the platform.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-lk_VA-EYrtk/VFaqgtPfMBI/AAAAAAAAQlc/oPuRcO5mAZQ/w407-h543-no/100_4344.JPG" alt="" width="407" height="543" /></p>
<p>Across the tracks on Station St. is Koo Koo Cafe, a tiny hole-in-the-wall coffee shop that Hanna and I often stop at when we are in the neighborhood. They serve excellent espresso and also carry gluten-free baked goods from local <a href="http://www.sarahsbakery.com/">Sarah&#8217;s Bakery</a>. Sarah&#8217;s fudge-frosted fudgy brownies are the <em>best</em>.<img class="aligncenter" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-zinWiASPwo4/VFarM1y0OyI/AAAAAAAAQl0/ndoFMz0P3sM/w407-h543-no/100_4346.JPG" alt="" width="407" height="543" /></p>
<p>One of the clothing shops in the little shopping district had autumnal colors hanging outside on display.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><img class="aligncenter" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-xB7ZVgVcoak/VFasrPuFOXI/AAAAAAAAQmU/SjHMrGR7QCk/w407-h543-no/100_4349.JPG" alt="" width="407" height="543" />Another of our favorite local eateries, <a href="http://www.cloverfoodlab.com/">Clover</a>, opened a storefront in Brookline Village in the past year (they originally operated out of food trucks &amp; a hub in Harvard Square.                          <img class="aligncenter" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Qxlez_pLAiI/VFasrFKvqWI/AAAAAAAAQmY/-rEAzbplJW0/w407-h543-no/100_4351.JPG" alt="" width="407" height="543" /></p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Because our library is cool that way, it has an &#8220;awesome box&#8221; in which to return the books patrons have found particularly <em>awesome</em> reads. Shaped like a TARDIS. Because <em>of course</em> shaped like a TARDIS.<img class="alignnone" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-pbzieuy30Io/VFauJsXnEaI/AAAAAAAAQms/mfr3SrwWOmQ/w724-h543-no/100_4353.JPG" alt="" width="724" height="543" />These tiny flowers were in bloom along the walk, at the front of someone&#8217;s terraced garden.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;"><img class="aligncenter" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/bpu7hCw8rN5nP4RXRaUbUZBg343DkKg59aXbVvAnKpmF=w407-h543-no" alt="" width="407" height="543" /></p>
<p style="text-align:left;">And this neighborhood was all ready for their Halloween trick-or-treat parade! (Signed taped to all the trees invited participates to the event.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">It was a lovely walk. I didn&#8217;t take any photos in Newport this weekend, so I&#8217;ll have to think of something else to post next Sunday &#8212; maybe I&#8217;ll get back to book reviews!</p>
