Buckeye is, as the name suggests, a Tower of Hanoi game for the Commodore 64 and PET 64 computers, released in 1983.</p>

This one is less featureful than even <a title="Hanoi (1978)" href="https://tmft.wordpress.com/2012/05/29/hanoi-1978/">Glen Fisher&#8217;s version from five years prior</a>: the number of discs is fixed at five, and the movements are not animated. The graphics are also less impressive&#8211;it&#8217;s harder to tell at a glance how many discs are on a stack, since they merge together onscreen.</p>
<p><a href="https://tmft.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/tower-1.png"><img loading="lazy" data-attachment-id="305" data-permalink="https://tmft.wordpress.com/2012/05/30/tower-of-hanoi-1983/tower-1/" data-orig-file="https://tmft.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/tower-1.png" data-orig-size="384,272" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;}" data-image-title="tower-1" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-medium-file="https://tmft.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/tower-1.png?w=300" data-large-file="https://tmft.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/tower-1.png?w=384" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-305" title="tower-1" src="https://tmft.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/tower-1.png?w=300&#038;h=212" alt="" width="300" height="212" srcset="https://tmft.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/tower-1.png?w=300&amp;h=212 300w, https://tmft.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/tower-1.png?w=150&amp;h=106 150w, https://tmft.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/tower-1.png 384w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a><br />
This version is essentially inferior to the several Tower of Hanoi games which preceded and followed it. I do not recommend it.</p>
