Second-Hand Stories

What’s the best story someone else has recently told you (in person, preferably)? Share it with us, and feel free to embellish — that’s how good stories become great, after all.

A picture is worth a thousand words …

This picture taken by my son tells a story, which he has nicely described by the accompanying poem.

We see life while running fast,
With our minds trapped in the concrete jungle,
We forget to see the natural side of life,
We start to live in our own lies..

We have forgotten how to be free,
Owned by our technology, we’ve forgotten how to see,
See how beautiful life is outside our fake shell..
We forgotten how to make stories and tell..

We travel in our “safe” metal cocoons everywhere,
Running day and night, here and there..
Take the time to take out the old cycle you own,
Ride it down the street you everyday see, but have never known..

We forget to think how it feels to be free,
Think how much of the world, we’re yet to see..
Ask yourself where we’ve lost the simplicity,
Cause I see lanterns lit by electricity..
