Heeding Haiku With Chèvrefeuille March 9th 2016

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The temple bells were ringing non stop. He ran up the cliff to see

who was causing that incessant ringing. As he got near the temple

what he saw made him stop…shocked. There was no one there. The

bells were swinging fiercely to and forth. There was no wind to

cause the movement. What on earth was causing it? Carefully he

entered the temple. As he went near the idols, he saw a face emerge .

It was not clear as to who it was.He was scared to venture any closer.

But the bells went on ringing louder and louder. The scraggly boy

was now trembling with fear. He thought of turning back and run

down the hill. As he turned …the temple gates had closed. Dusk had

set in. The cacophony of bird calls was sounding ominous. As he

turned to face the idols again, he saw the face that had emerged ,

taking a distinct form. He went closer. Oh …what he saw made him

dumbstruck. That was his father! After all those years of his father

passing away, he had lost hope that he would ever see him again.

He did not even have a picture of him.Tears rolled down his cheeks.

After all God had answered his prayers. Finally he got to see his dad.

The bells had now stopped ringing.

The temple gates opened….and the face disappeared.

…………………………………….

those memories

make you believe in god

and miracles happen
