<![CDATA[Final Fantasy XV’s Combat System may use Old Mechanics]]>In case any of you out there didn’t know; Square Enix‘s upcoming entry in the Final Fantasy series “XV” was originally known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII however due to numerous delays, Square decided to rename it Final Fantasy XV and release it on the next generation consoles with stunning graphics and gameplay similar to that of Kingdom Hearts; bringing something new to the Final Fantasy games however if a recent interview with Yoshinori Kitase is anything to go by, we could be seeing some familiar gameplay mechanics in the upcoming game.

Serving as producer on XV; Kitase said to Game Informer; “it doesn’t necessarily mean that something that we’ve used before is now invalid and can’t be used, there’s certainly a possibility of taking it and bringing it back. But I think it’s going to be those kind of changes that the technology allows that we’re going to have to maybe think and adapt for.” Other things Kitase mentioned was that Gambits & Paradigm Shifts are the kind of concepts that his team is currently continuing to explore and evaluate for Final Fantasy XV.

Final Fantasy XV doesn’t currently have a date as of this moment and is set to launch on Microsoft’s Xbox One & Sony’s PlayStation 4. Check out the trailer below.
