The Story:
Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom shares the same opening cutscene as Invizimals: The Alliance and sees the young boy from the cutscene; Known as Hiro travel into the Invizimals world to explore for research purposes and save the Invizimals world from robots among many other enemies.
The Gameplay:
Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom is an action platformer that takes quite a bit of influence from games like Ratchet & Clank and Knack. The player assumes the role of Hiro, A Human boy who travels through a portal into the Invizimals world and gains the ability to turn into numerous invizimals to wipe out a threat to the Invizimalworld. The platforming elements are extremely well done with the perfect mixture of combat, jumping and maneuvering your way across numerous chasm’s. The game allows you to transform into different Invizimals such as Ocelotl Minotaur & Tigershark to name a few who each have their own abilities such as Ocelotl being able to climb vines and Minotaur being able to charge through walls.There are many things to collect aswell such as Invizimal tokens which can be used to upgrade attacks and special blue tokens which can be used to open locked doors.
The Sound:
Invizimals The Lost Kingdom has a very lackluster soundtrack which as I mentioned earlier takes elements from other Sony platformers however the soundtrack is not very memorable. The voice acting can be fun at times however it does feel extremely lackluster compared to voice acting from similar family games.
The Graphics:
Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom has went for a very cartoony style of graphics which to the most part looks like a combination of Sly Cooper and Jak & Daxter. The cutscenes are humorous yet serious at some parts which leads to some great storytelling and the childish graphics help portray it very well.
Lasting Appeal:
Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom has plenty of things to replay for such as collecting all the items and tokens in each level (Should you miss them) aswell as plenty of upgrades to purchase for each Invizimal form.
All in all, Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom is not the most enjoyable PS3 title out there but it is still a fun adventure nonetheless with great humor for all ages and highly enjoyable platforming.
