Naughty Dog and Sony unveiled Uncharted 4 during this year’s E3 gaming convention, and the biggest news is that the highly detailed trailer they put on show is as real as it gets.

Yes, you heard that right, the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End trailer showcased during Sony’s E3 2014 press conference event was running in real time on the PlayStation 4, all of it in-engine, and part of an actual level within the game.

Check out the trailer below, then decide for yourself whether or not the next-gen platforms are able to deliver some amazing visuals. I Initially believed the trailer to be a Pre-Rendered cutscene but it seems I may have been wrong

The developers mentioned that the difference between The Last of Us and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was astounding, that they were able to create stuff on a never-before-seen level, telling that you can see the skin discoloration on Nathan Drake’s forehead when he wakes up in the sand, when he furrows his brow, due to blood being realistically pushed away from the skin, which the team is now able to simulate.

Naughty Dog aims to have the upcoming game run in 1080p resolution and at a smooth 60 frames per second. Whether or not the PlayStation 4 will be able to hold that framerate while displaying the gorgeously detailed graphics in the trailer remains to be seen though, but with Naughty Dog the impossible can be made possible

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End doesn’t have a release date tacked on yet, but it’s expected to land sometime in 2015, exclusively for Sony’s next-gen console, the PlayStation 4.
