Madrid held their annual Christmas luncheon and hospital visits yesterday, and if you’re like me, you’re curious as to who sat with whom at the fete.  So here we go:

– Raúl sat at the head table

– Ronaldo, Kaká, Lass, Diarrá, Benzema, Marcelo

– Sergio, Iker, Guti, Higuaín, Garay

– Metzelder, Rafa, Dudek, Drenthe

– De La Red, Xabi, Adán, Arbeloa, Granero, Albiol

So it looks like they were grouped in this way: Raúl as captain with the big boys, the remaining captains and Argentines, the Portuguese and French speakers, the northern Europeans, the non-captain Spaniards.

Pepe and Van Nistelrooy were not present, as both are recovering from injuries, while Gago also did not attend due to a cold.

As expected, Kaká and Cristiano came together, and sat next to each other.  However, the evil Madrid scheduler person sent them to separate hospitals later on, so they couldn’t spend the rest of the day together.

I found some pictures of Iker and Sergio at the San Rafael hospital (the scheduler person did right there) and Iker and Sergio were so adorable with the kids!  Can’t wait to see them with their own…

The players also took pictures next to a Christmas tree, so I expect we’ll see those in the days leading up to Christmas.

And in the spirit of Christmas, I will praise the players and say that most of them were quite well-dressed (except Drenthe, but that is a very Drenthe outfit, and he would have disappointed me had he worn something more normal).
