In an interview with AS, Iker shares what Fabio Cannavaro told him before and after the World Cup.  How cute is this?

Q:  Cannavaro was the one in charge of bringing the Cup before the final.  What did he tell you?

A:  When we won the Eurocopa, he told me, “I’m happy for you because it’s something great for Spanish football, but until you lift up la bambina you won’t realize what it is.”  He called the World Cup la bambina and never told me why.  And now that I’ve lived it, I realize what he told me was true.  The game ended and he sent me a message saying, “Now do you understand?”  Yes, I do understand.  I have a lot of affection for the Eurocopa and it was the fantastic, but this is four times better.

Hmmm, Iker and bambinas.  And I’m not thinking about the World Cup.
