<p>Well, Real Madrid is taking the day off and so I am too from this blog, so here is a &#8220;<em>edición lite</em>&#8221; of the in case you missed it for the Peñarol game.  We can talk about Iker&#8217;s campus (and the flip flops) and Sergio&#8217;s interview and him being &#8220;<em>súper orgulloso</em>&#8221; later on!</p>
<p><a href="http://i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol21.jpg"><img class="alignleft" src="https://i0.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol21.jpg" alt="" width="263" height="369" /></a></p>
<p><span style="color:#0000ff;"><strong>One. </strong></span>Near the end of the first half, José Mourinho was seen taking notes in his little notebook.  He wrote a lot of things, even having to flip pages at one point, then ripped out some pages, and handed them along with instructions to assistant Aitor Karanka.  Karanka studied the notes for a bit, and then was seen heading to the locker room several minutes later with the notes and other folders in hand.</p>
<p>What do you think Mou was writing so secretively?  Since I promised no technical football talk for this blog, my guesses are: Sergio looks really good with the short hair &#8211; tell him to keep it up; I don&#8217;t like how the grass looks at the midfield &#8211; get FP to change it; I need a mirror installed on the underside of the top of the bench so I can see how I look during games; my outfit is so much better than Pep Guardiola&#8217;s; and I&#8217;m hungry &#8211; order a salad and fruit for me for halftime.  Dressing on the side.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">Two.</span> </strong>No idea what Sergio was doing here before the game with Marcelo, but it&#8217;s so cute!</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" src="https://i0.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol18.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="320" /></p>
<p><!--more--><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">Three.</span> </strong>And here they are &#8211; the six finalists for the title of Mr. Real Madrid 2011!</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" src="https://i1.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol20.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="320" /></p>
<p><span style="color:#0000ff;"><strong>Four. </strong></span>Madrid basketball players, including Jorge Garbajosa, Sergi Vidal, Sergio Rodríguez, Nicola Mirotic, Felipe Reyes, Clay Tucker and Sergio Llull came out to support their football counterparts; I hope our footballers will return the favor, especially now that Raúl is gone!  Cristiano sort of did on <a href="https://unamadridista.wordpress.com/2010/08/23/more-free-time-activities/">Sunday</a>, since Garbajosa, Llull and Reyes are all part of the Spanish national team.</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignnone" src="https://i0.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol17.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="320" /></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">Five.</span> </strong>Sergio &amp; Sami basically have the same hair.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" src="https://i2.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol07.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="320" /></p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">Six.</span> </strong>Xabi <em>really</em> knows how to pose.  Even when he&#8217;s waiting to take a corner kick, he looks incredible.</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignnone" src="https://i0.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol06.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="320" /></strong></p>
<p><span style="color:#0000ff;"><strong>Seven. </strong></span>Due to Fer&#8217;s unfortunate injury, Ángel di María had to come into the game, and he wasn&#8217;t prepared.  Here, he&#8217;s taking off his shirt to put on his jersey (he&#8217;s on the far right).  And he scored a fantastic goal, although he really, really needs to get a new goal celebration.</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignnone" src="https://i1.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol08.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="320" /></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">Eight. </span> </strong>If the football career doesn&#8217;t work out, Esteban Granero has a shot at becoming a Rockette.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" src="https://i0.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol09.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="320" /></p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">Nine.</span> </strong>I wholly approve of the (front of the) new jerseys, especially how transparent they are when they get wet, and how nicely they cling to some bodies.  Work it Sergio!</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignnone" src="https://i0.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol11.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="320" /></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">Ten. </span> </strong>Let&#8217;s see David, Mou&#8217;s instructions for you are on page 432, let me quickly flip to it.</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignnone" src="https://i0.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol12.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="320" /></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">Eleven. </span> </strong>Poor Cristiano suffered from aggressive play throughout the game and received treatment immediately after coming out.  By the way, Irina was at the game with Cris&#8217; family in their box.</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignnone" src="https://i2.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol13.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="320" /></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">Twelve.</span> </strong>FP to Iker: go get the cup yourself.  <em>I&#8217;m </em>too important to handle menial things like that.</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignnone" src="https://i0.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol14.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="320" /></strong></p>
<p>Sergio (thinking): being a captain&#8217;s great!  I&#8217;m surrounded all the time by <em>súper</em> shiny things!  And Iker!  ¡Yay!</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignnone" src="https://i2.wp.com/i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx268/unamadridista/penarol15.jpg" alt="" width="563" height="320" /></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">Thirteen. </span> </strong>Did you know that Peñarol are known as the <em>carboneros</em>?  Yes, like Ángel&#8217;s <a href="https://unamadridista.wordpress.com/2010/08/24/angel-di-maria-at-as/">father</a> or Sara&#8217;s last name.  One newspaper article pointed out that Iker was so, so brave and valiant because seeing his girlfriend&#8217;s last name on the collars of the opposing team&#8217;s shirts didn&#8217;t faze him at all.</p>
