This is how Iker showed up to receive the award for being Madrid’s “most healthy” player last season, following a vote by Madrid fans.  I can’t even begin to imagine what the rest of the outfit (i.e. the shoes) look like.  The matching of non-matching (or even complementary) neutral colors is not new for our Iker though.  Words are failing me at the moment.

This means that things aren’t looking too good for tomorrow’s Príncipe de Asturias awards in the fashion stakes.  Someone send Xabi over to Iker’s closet RIGHT NOW!

Meanwhile, the fichajes, including José Mourinho, all received their Sanitas cards.  Mou didn’t look too happy though.

Mesut Özil had the opportunity to sort of repeat his “C” gesture from the last game (which Mateos and Khedira did) in holding the card for display, but chose to array his hand in another way.

In other general news: Rubén de la Red said today that he’s studying whether to accept an offer from Real Madrid to form part of José Mourinho’s coaching staff.  During a presentation of a study made by the Spanish Cardiological Society in Valencia, Rubén said that “I’ve spent 10 years in Real Madrid and I’d like to continue there.”  He wouldn’t say more, preferring to wait until matters are concluded to speak about it.
