There are six players on el Geta that are former Madrid canteranos: Jordi Codina (2002-09; 2007-09 – years with Madrid; years on first team), Miguel Torres (1998-2009; 2007-09), Pedro Mosquera (2000-09; debut in 2010 against – curiously enough – Getafe as a Castilla player); Borja Fernández (1996-2006; 2003-06); Javier Casquero (various youth teams) and Dani Parejo (1996-2009; returned from loan in 2009 in the winter transfer market).

And Roberto Soldado and Adrián left at the beginning of this season, for Valencia and Racing, respectively.

Getafe coach Míchel is a former player and part of the Quinta del Buitre, and he was also in charge of the cantera for a short time, and had coached some of the players above during his time as Castilla head coach.

If that’s not enough, three players on our first team has also played for los azulones: Pedro León, Esteban Granero and Raúl Albiol. Rubén de la Red has as well.

There are rumors going on right now that Dani Parejo may be on his way back to Madrid. And I really hope that Madrid takes Miguel Torres back – he signed a five-year contract with Getafe in the summer of 2009, which included a preferential buy-back option for Madrid that expires after two years. That means that I still have hope for the next eight months!
