<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?><oembed><version><![CDATA[1.0]]></version><provider_name><![CDATA[following Real Madrid...]]></provider_name><provider_url><![CDATA[https://unamadridista.wordpress.com]]></provider_url><author_name><![CDATA[unamadridista]]></author_name><author_url><![CDATA[https://unamadridista.wordpress.com/author/unamadridista/]]></author_url><title><![CDATA[I&#8217;m so proud they are&nbsp;madridistas]]></title><type><![CDATA[link]]></type><html><![CDATA[<p>The club <a href="http://www.realmadrid.com/cs/Satellite/es/1330010081531/noticia/ComunicadoOficial/Comunicado_Oficial:_Vicente_del_Bosque,_Rafael_Nadal_y_Placido_Domingo,_socios_de_honor_del_club.htm">announced</a> today that during a directors meeting yesterday, they decided to name as <em>socios de honor</em>, the highest honor given out by Real Madrid, Vicente del Bosque, Plácido Domingo and Rafa Nadal.  The announcement goes on to say that VDB was chosen for his &#8220;impeccable work in coaching Spain to the World Cup,&#8221; Plácido Domingo as a &#8220;phenomenon of music&#8221; and Rafa Nadal as &#8220;the number one in world tennis.&#8221;</p>
<p>This is great, but one question: where&#8217;s the recognition for everything Vicente del Bosque accomplished when he worked for Madrid, from the time he was a player to the head of the <em>cantera</em> to the manager?* I really wish it didn&#8217;t take winning the World Cup for Madrid to recognize him like this.</p>
<p>* VDB won five Ligas and three Copas del Rey as a player, and two Champions Leagues and two Ligas as the coach.</p>
