For those that are interested, here are the steps for exporting student directory information out of Infinite Campus (note: these are custom reports built specifically for West Des Moines Schools)

Option #1) I want an Excel spreadsheet with all student directory information from my school

Select the proper YEAR and SCHOOL near the top of the screen

On the INDEX tab, open STUDENT INFORMATION, then REPORTS and select * STUDENT DIRECTORY INFO TO EXCEL

A new tab should open up – and again choose the right option for SELECT A CALENDAR pull down

For SELECT A FORMAT, choose EXCEL and the click on the EXPORT button.

Option #2) FOR ELEMENTARY ONLY… I want a pdf file for each class section that is already formatted with the classroom roster NOTE: you will need to run these directions for each classroom section – as you will need to export the roster for each class separately.

Select the proper YEAR and SCHOOL near the top of the screen

On the INDEX tab, open STUDENT INFORMATION, then REPORTS and you can then choose either *STUDENT DIRECTORY WITH EMAILS or *STUDENT DIRECTORY WITHOUT EMAILS

A new tab should open up – and again choose the right option for SELECT A CALENDAR pull down and SECTION ID

For SELECT A FORMAT, choose PDF and the click on the EXPORT button.

NOTE: to run the next section, change the SECTION ID, click on VIEW REPORT, then select PDF on SELECT A FORMAT pull down and click EXPORT

Option #3) FOR ELEMENTARY ONLY… I want a listing of all students, showing what homeroom they are assigned to (the type of directory listing that usually shows up in the back of the student directory)

Select the proper YEAR and SCHOOL near the top of the screen

On the INDEX tab, open STUDENT INFORMATION, then REPORTS and select * STUDENT DIRECTORY LISTING

A new tab should open up – and again choose the right option for SELECT A CALENDAR pull down

For SELECT A FORMAT, choose PDF and the click on the EXPORT button.

Some FAQ’s about student directories…

Q1. What about families who don’t want to be in the directories?
A1. These reports are programmed to remove all families who have opted out of the directories.

Q2. Each parent can add two email addresses to Infinite Campus – which of their email addresses does it export?
A2. These report pull from the primary email address field for each person. If a parent would like one address listed over another – then they must change what address they have in their primary email vs secondary email field.

Q3. I’m a parent volunteer who is putting the directory together – how do I obtain the student directory information?
A3. Make a request at your school office and they can utilize the directions above to obtain the information for you.
