Over the holiday weekend, we migrated out existing email from Microsoft Exchange/Outlook over to Google mail. Please check back to this page for the updates, information, and instructions.

Q1. How do I access my email now?
A1. Open a web browser and visit https://mail.google.com/a/wdmcs.org and log in with your user name (the first part of your email address before the @wdmcs.org and your regular password.

Q2. After I log in, I’m seeing new email and some older email – but it appears that my email/calendar from May 1st to July 2nd is missing… what’s going on?
A3. The migration is still currently running (as of Monday July 6th), so some individuals are still missing email/calendar items from that timeframe – it appears that the migration won’t be fully finished until this evening and your messages should all be intact by then.

Q3. I’m able to log in – but I’m needing some help, what resources are available?
A3. We recommend these two resources…

How to connect your android phone..

There are two ways to connect your android phone. The first method is the easiest, and gives you immediate access to your email. However, the catch to this method is that it will force you to use “conversation” view, which groups all messages with the same subject line together. If this is bothersome to you, please use Method 2 below.

Method 1 – Easiest Way

Open the Settings app.

Open Accounts & sync (some Androids call this Accounts)

Tap Add account.

Tap Google.

Enter your full email address and tap next, then enter your password.

Your phone is now connected to your WDMCS google account.

Open the Gmail app on your phone (make sure you are using the Gmail app and not the one called Email). You will see your new account there. If you had a personal account already tied to your phone, you may need to choose the menu in the upper left, and select your WDMCS account from the drop down list.

Method 2

On a computer, open your email.

Go to the settings wheel in the upper right, and down to Settings.

Click the tab for Forwarding and POP/IMAP.

Choose the button next to Enable IMAP and then Save Changes.

On your phone open the Email application.

If you already have another account in this application, tap and the Settings. If this is your first account, choose Others.

Enter your full WDMCS email address and password, then tap Next.

Tap IMAP Account.

For ‘Username,’ enter your full email address

Update the Incoming Settings:

For ‘IMAP server,’ enter ‘imap.gmail.com‘

For ‘Port,’ enter ‘993’

For ‘Security type,’ select ‘SSL”

Tap Next and fill in the Outgoing Settings.

For ‘SMTP server’ enter ‘smtp.gmail.com’

Tap Next and continue through the setup options. By default, most phones are set to check for new mail every 15 minutes, but this is one of the options you can set during the process.

Q5. How can I set up a way to preview messages, like it was in Outlook?
A5. Answer: Click on the gear icon (settings), then click on Settings. At the top on the menu tabs, click on Labs. Once you’re in Labs, scroll down to Preview Pane and then click to enable it. Be sure to Save changes (scroll all the way to the top or all the way to the bottom), then go back to your Inbox. You’ll now see in the upper right-hand corner of your screen (next to the Settings icon) a new icon which will allow you to preview emails in the right side (vertical) or at the bottom of your email (horizontal).

Q7. Will I still receive a daily spam email summary?
No, daily spam email summaries will no longer be used.
