Halloween at Krispy Kreme has begun!

There’s a Krispy Kreme within a mile of my apartment this year and it’s dangerous. Last weekend this was the promotional tray cover. Halloween is here! I’m used to holidays coming too early in the US. Christmas always seems to start a week earlier every season as though global warming has pushed winter forward in spirit. But, Japan seems to have caught this early holiday buzz mostly with the Halloween stuff. Starting the first week of September Krispy Kreme, two of the local pastry shops, and all of the dollar stores have out their Halloween spreads. I haven’t had a chance to re-sample the seasonal fare at Krispy Kreme yet this year, but I sure as hell took advantage last year.

It was an impressive decorating job, but the filling wasn’t as sweet as I expected. Caramel flavor seems to vary a lot around here. But, I will give it to Krispy Kreme. They’re more genuine than a lot of import foods. At least they have a caramel flavor!
