<p>Gaunts, also called deadmounts, are <a href="https://xaeyruudh.wordpress.com/2012/01/07/undead/" title="Undead">undead</a> horses, animated by priests of Bane.  Before <a href="https://xaeyruudh.wordpress.com/2012/01/30/time-of-troubles/" title="The Time of Troubles">the Time of Troubles</a>, they served mainly as mounts for <a href="https://xaeyruudh.wordpress.com/2012/01/15/night-rider/" title="Night Rider">night riders</a>; now they&#8217;re available only to liches and other undead spellcasters with the knowledge of how to animate or summon them.</p>
