At a Glance

One of the prophecies of Alaundo says that armies of undead and fiends will one day destroy Cormyr, unless it is defended by those who should have been dead.

The Lords Who Sleep are Cormyr’s response to this prophecy. They are over thirty fighters, preserved in stasis, concealed in a cave bristling with traps and protected by a long succession of trusted guardians (currently Emperel). Each is equipped with wings of flying; they also have magical armor and weapons, and many potions and other enchanted items.

The royal court of Cormyr refers to these hidden warriors as the Sleeping Sword, to mislead any who may be listening and wish harm on the kingdom.
